Max Brenners: Chocolate For Every Taste Bud

The Single Life

I love chocolate! You can hand it to me any way. Whether it is melted, frozen, milk, dark, white. One of the sweetest treats in the world comes in variety and I’m a sucker for options. Recently, I visited the Max Brenner: Chocolate by the Bald Man restaurant on 15tth Street (between Walnut and Locust). It hadn’t been my first time there, but since I order something new off of the menu each time it always feels like a new experience.

I was all too excited to meet up with my very best of friends to sit, bask in girl talk, and gaze over the menu of chocolately goodness. For this visit, I ate their waffle turkey club sandwich. It was a sandwich made out of a waffle! If that isn’t amazing, I don’t know what is. The sandwich was coupled with a side of freshly chilled vegetables and a cold glass of water for me. As I looked around the restaurant I couldn’t helped but once again be impressed by the candy shop, the chocolate pipes running across the ceiling and the bottles and barrels of chocolate that decorated both the walls and odd corners. With all of that chocolate sitting around me, I just knew I had to have desert.

In the past from their menu I have tried a few different treats all set to raise the chocolate bar. But this night, I was splitting chocolate fondue with my friend. For our choices we had dark, white, and milk chocolate and a side of individualized brownies, cookies, marshmallows, bananas and strawberries. The small fire was set for roasting and it was time for dipping.

The chocolate was amazing. I needn’t mention that throughout the course of the night our sweets were all gone and my very best friend and I had talked until the fire to our fondue had burned out. We had officially stayed until the doors were closed. However, the kind service, comfortable atmosphere and sweet treats kept us in no hurry. I am sure the next time a group of friends and I return to Max Brenner’s I’ll try something new off of their menu, after all as they say “it’s really simple, all you have to do is just really love chocolate”. So, I’m sure I won’t have a hard time choosing.
